Does the JPG keep the original date, camera details or GPS location?+

No. The JPG is created from decoded image pixels, not by copying the original EXIF metadata. Our tagged HEIC sample produced a JPG with no EXIF date, camera or GPS tags. Keep the original HEIC for archiving or when those details matter. Removing tags does not hide information visible in the photo itself.

Will my HEIC photo stay correctly rotated?+

Our rotated HEIC sample downloaded as an upright JPG in Chromium. HEIC files and browser decoders vary, so check the downloaded photo before sharing and keep your original. This is not a guarantee for every camera or HEIC variant.

Will converting HEIC to JPG improve photo quality?+

No. JPG uses lossy compression, so conversion can lose detail and the file may be larger or smaller. The optional JPG quality control trades file size against detail; it cannot recover information missing from the original.
